Lavonia, GA – The O'Reilly Southern All Star Racing Series
is set to return to action in this Saturday night, March 22nd
in "Late Model Extravaganza" at t he Lavonia Speedway
in Lavonia, Georgia. Reopening under the guidance of longtime
Georgia racer / promoter Brad York, Lavonia has underwent a massive
resurfacing effort during the off season. "Lavonia has long
had a dust problem. We are trying to listen to our drivers and
fans and get the place back to the upper echelon of Georgia race
tracks. The biggest complaint we had was the dust. The next was
how late we ran on big shows. We feel like we are tackling these
issues head-on and the folks that support us will be rewarded
from that." York said.
Along with the O'Reilly Southern All Star Super Late Models the
undercard of support divisions will include a Fastrak Champions
Series Southern Regional event as well as the Southeastern Late
Model Sportsman Series. Late model fans will find themselves in
heaven as this will be the only divisions in action. The Fastrak
Champions Series will undergo time trials on Friday night, March
21st. Racing will begin at 7:30 PM EST. At the completion of the
Fastrak on-track activities the speedway will be opened for practice.
