DAYTONA BEACH, FL (March 18, 2008) – A new era in southern Late Model racing begins this Saturday, March 22nd, at Mobile International Speedway when the green flag is dropped on the inaugural ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour season. What is just as exciting is the fact that the series, which will have many of its events televised, announced it has garnered title sponsorship from MoonPie and RC Cola.

Plenty of Southerners already enjoy RC Cola and MoonPies, but now being able to do so while watching the exciting new brand of short track racing that the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour offers in 2008 is a win-win for fans of all three.

Several announcements that will peak fans’ interest regarding the RC Cola / MoonPie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour will be made in the next few weeks.

The first race for the RC Cola / MoonPie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour will kick-off on Saturday, March 22nd, at Mobile International Speedway in Alabama. The event will run over a two-day period, with Friday being an optional practice day. Pit gates will open on Friday at 5pm with a two-hour practice session beginning at 6:30pm. On Saturday, gates will open at 11am, with practice starting at 1:45. Qualifying begins at 6:15. The RC Cola / MoonPie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour event is slated to begin approximately 8:45pm.
